Saturday's Critters

It's been  a whirlwind, literally, of rain, snow, graupel and wind. Poor critters! There was 5 cm snow Friday.

Butch is awake

And this one is missing a paw. Another has a weird-looking tail!

Early Sunday, the robins were singing two different songs.

Good Bunny Labbit is still doing well. She likes the deer food.

After the coyotes took down a fawn, the crows were around helping clean up.

We had a red-headed woodpecker!

The cardinal and robin look great in the snow. I like seeing Butch!

The late winter storms your way were big enough to hit the news here... I suspect because there's a chance we'll get the tail end. Brrrrrrr.... YAM xx

What a little survivor that racoon without a paw is! I saw a red headed or piliated fly by the other day!

The birds are bringing colour back. Crocuses in a few weeks maybe?

Oh how I love your photos and the snowy landscape. Sure is fun to feed the birds and see them come and enjoy! Sweet hugs, Diane

We just got rain yesterday. I wonder how the raccoons suffered their injuries.

Winter does not seem to want to leave us! I enjoyed your photos of the birds, raccoon and the bunny. Thank you for linking up and sharing your critter post. Take care, have a great weekend. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.

We got about ten cm. yesterday with another 5 to 10 forecast for later today or overnight. I could barely get the car into the yard to unload groceries this morning because it was a slick kind of snow with our uphill lane. I expect Michael will be plowing tomorrow.

We lost a fawn to coyotes (unless it was sick, or had an injury that was the cause) and it was my displeasure to see what was left of its carcass for several days while passing the bush behind our yard. And if not, well, coyotes have to eat too. We still hate to see it happen. -Kate

Oh no the poor fawn! I know "Nature red in tooth and claw" but still hard sometimes. The cardinal really pops out in the snowy landscape.

Oh wow! He's missing a paw? Ouch! We're getting a ton of rain here as well.

The crow looks big enough for a dinner! Poor Butch. Wonder what happened? Did he lose a paw in the cold? A mean human with a trap? Linda in Kansas

Oh dear your snow ... but the birds look extra specially beautiful against it.
Have a good weekend.

All the best Jan

I can't believe the weather you are having. It must be tough for the critters.

As warm as it is HERE today, it's so hard to think that there is snow still in your area. I did have a window seat on my returning flight home on Monday and as we flew over Canada, I could see lots of snow. It's 94 degrees here today...

I enjoyed watching the racoons, and but what a joy to see the Red-headed Woodpecker.
