Barry felled a number of trees, or half felled them. We had a quick freeze up, which interrupted his work this fall. Here he was in late November, busy as a beaver.

Barry Beaver is locked in under the ice. I hope he cached enough food or is napping. The ice melted in our rain. Then refroze. No sign of him. I'd done some reading, and there are some beavers called bank beavers. Not that it is a different species, but some dig out a lodge in the banks of rivers. I've no river, only a wetland. I suspect Barry will survive.
This is before the melt!
This is a sample of his work! The widow maker...
Widow maker for sure.
We had a wind storm go by, as well as rain.
From the deck I noticed something that was missing! No widow maker. Hmmmmm...
That is a relief.

The beaver and the wind does a lot of damage. Take care, enjoy your day!
Good that your critters were snugly tucked into shelter from the wind and rain. And how nice to see at least one tree has fallen. If you ever find your trail cam it might have some interesting shots - though perhaps water-logged!
Many decades ago there was a bank beaver by a former cottage. I am not sure if we called it that or something else.
I wouildn't hire Barry Beaver to do any work around the house. Stay safe. Poor trees. Linda in Kansas
Our wind was at night, it is cool to see yours during the day. That was a crazy front that went through. Barry certainly has been busy. I have never personally dealt with beavers, but if they were not doing any critical damage, I would let them be.
...I hope that Barry doesn't chose trees that you value.
