Saturday's Critters

Welcome to Saturday! It is a typical time of year. We have the May blackflies still, the mosquitoes have let up (a bit!), and now, the deerflies are here. They are more typical of July, but we have to go with the flow.

Things are still hatching around here. The robins have laid 2 eggs in the same nest that hatched 3 baby robins last month! Here is a baby I found on the ground a couple of years ago.

Phoebes have 4 eggs in THEIR old May nest. Apparently, we have more babies to come.

In the backyard, a doe ambled by.

I went walkies down to the trailcam and heard a bird. Happily BIRDnet figured it out for me!

I used the snake scope to check out the house wrens. They are fairly tolerant of visits, although I do not visit them often. They yell at me to get away when I walk by, but come back shortly. I mean, I have to do the lawn!

Turn down the sound, the alarm was set off by moths!

The kids have a busy weekend ahead. They had a container delivered Friday morning. They have to put all their kitchen stuff in while their kitchen is getting a major renovation! They are prepared to cook in the backyard, and are ready with their microwave and BBQ.

In the meantime, in their backyard, they had wee friends visit.
