Hurry! Hurray hard!

Round Robin play
We enjoy the curling. Hubby gets out the stats and makes charts.

There are no concussions.
There are no fights.

Until this past week, there are no demonstrations of temper tantrums in curling.

The kittens and cats get involved, too.

He loves the strategy. I love the integrity of curling. They curl against the rocks, the ice, and not so much one another.

The fans are fun, for the most part. Like tennis, there is a gentility to it. Until this past week.

Until last Saturday. There was a large crowd. They were down to the final round-robin. There was beer and fans used to hockey and the jeering that results.

The posts were a sad statement of affairs.

Crowd booing, people yelling obscene remarks about players, with their family members sitting in the audience in front of them.
Like tennis, when you are about to shoot or serve, you pause out of respect.

Then there was the microphone incident...

Round Robin Challenge: Water

looking at the skyRound Robin Jan. 30, 2010

Theme: Water
It's everywhere in Muskoka

You just can't always see it! This river drains into an apparently frozen lake! But we know about lake water temperatures! Ah, well. It's all water under the bridge now!

Round Robin Challenge: chickens

"Round Robin Challenge: Chickens"

You'd think Muskoka (cottage country) wouldn't be the place for them. But it is! Lots of hobby farms and people who believe in fresh country eggs.

This is one that did not get away. A free range chicken the kids brought for our dining pleasure and my daughter's 30th birthday dinner.

These are at Nancy Tapley's resort, near Deerhurst.
Here are some chickens in flight...OK, as close as they'll ever get!
This one peered around the fence at me, hoping I would feed it! These are Nancy Tapley's Muskoka chickens, I call her the Chicken Whisperer, featured on a previous post, and on YouTube! She is brilliant with all creatures, two and 4-legged!

Floating

Float like a butterfly!

Lonesome Charlie, our favourite goose, tries to float like a butterfly.
It started with a food fight, with Oscar chasing the other pair away. They float across the water.

Sting like a bee.
