Crumbly Acres clean up: dump run!

Poor Joe has been fighting a cold. He's got congestion. Thank goodness for the puffer. He's been wheezy.

I'm having trouble getting up some motivation. I finally did it. Cleaned up some debris and junk. That meant a dump run. We drove through town, all loaded up.

This apartment building, newly built, is still for sale. I cannot imagine being a landlord these days. It's been a saga from an old house being torn down to a new build. It's been on sale for $1,475,000! There are 4 apartments, rented for $2300 apiece.

Such a relief to get that done. It was a $5 fee.

I spotted this memorial. It's for a young man, Jayden (18), who was killed in a car incident in 2023 Dec. 7th.

Joe likes seeing the log homes around us.

I am hoping to spot fawns on the trailcams. Nothing so far! We've two pregnant does.

Cinnamon spotted a frog on the goldfish pond.

Fred and her kits. She is so careful with them.

In the meantime, #75 has been reluctant to venture forth in the cold and the rain. More on Fred tomorrow!

The Perth Fair

The Perth Fair always runs on the Labour Day weekend. We visited on Friday, the first day of the three-day fair. It opened at noon, and timed it that way. The crowds built up as we ambled around.

You can see that the lights were on, because it was cloudy.

This little hat was so cute. There is a mechanism in the long ears of the little boy's hat. Daddy was showing how his new nat worked. If you squeeze it at the bottom of the yellow ears, the horns pop up and down.
Typical 4-H events, showing their calves.

The carver:

Jayden was an 18-year-old from our township, who died Dec. 7th in a car incident near Perth.

Lots of happy kids, parents and grandparents filming the action!

We both got tattoos.

I had my heart set on a Blooming Onion. It was a mistake.

On the way home, a gathering of birds, in a flock, ready for migration.

The trees are changing colours.

Saturday morning it dumped rain. I am glad we popped into the fair Friday.

Saturday morning 27 mm, about an inch
