David Rotunda Band at Westport's The Cove Inn

UPDATE: $640 was raised for WESTPORT IN BLOOM and $740 on Saturday night for the WESTPORT LIBRARY bringing the total from this year's Series to just over $5,000 and the overall total since BOTR began to just under $40K for different local non-profit organizations.

 just south of Perth, Ontario

We went off to The Cove, in Westport, for an overnighter!

Surrounded by lakes and provincial parks, it is cottage country Ontario east!

 We took the hard drive home, through gravel roads.

We stayed in a B & B, a delightful spot. We were at A Victorian Reflection. They also have an antique shop! This is an affordable holiday. Lots of fun getting out after a long week of volunteering with challenging clients.

Blues on the Rideau is a great series, with great bands. They sell out all the time! Rather than travelling far, we like less expensive vacations near-by, supporting local places.

We went to The Cove Inn to see the show.

A grand time. I made a video of my photos. Just a hubby now, I used to teach my elementary students how to do this!

This is the type of vacation we like: only a day away from home.
The cats don't get too nervous, and we don't spend the family fortune. There goes their inheritance... as we always say.

I worked with Suzie during Blues in the Schools in 2000 (for more of my 2000 photos), at Blossom Park school. We had such fun watching these great intermediate students being enthralled in the Roots of Blues music.

Suzie and Rick, and the other folks who worked with Bluesfest's BITS, did a great job introducing my kids to music and rhythm.

The fabulous night was sold out, Monday, August 8th. The town was packed, with hotels and B & Bs full up. Standing room only, shop till you drop shopping. Great way to bring tourists to town.
