The pantry...
Another adventure. JB found one of his special fibre granola bars had a hole in one end. There were crumbs. He didn't look too much further, but threw it out, just in case. Later, I was in the pantry, and pulled out the can that contains our crackers for snackies. Behind the can: mice poo. Sigh.
We have a lot of deer mice. They do tend to get into the attic, then they come into the house looking for food. I usually pop them outside. A story on The Weather Network says they are looking to get cool in this hot weather, as much as they are looking for food. Also, they are looking for water. We have a bird bath and a water fountain. I don't think that is the case here. Nor is construction moving them, as in the city of Ottawa.
Now, there is a large hole in the floor, with a tri-colour rubber ball down there. I don't know. Don't ask! The hole was meant (I think) for the phone line that used to come in. The old owners had a phone line. They took it out before they moved. There used to be a stackable washer/dryer here, as well, with all the plumbing for it. Now, it is just a pantry.
It's a clean pantry. I purged, and cleaned the shelves. THREE cats! :-)

Mon., July 23 - The invasion of mice into people's homes usually happens later in the year -- not in the middle of July.
On the rain front: we had 31 mm Wednesday. The goldfish pond is about to overflow. It is lovely.

She spent the entire day, with 31 mm of rain, on the back deck. We've had the air conditioner on, it's been so hot.
There was a video everyone with any heart for refugees should watch. Or anyone who wants confirmation that there is hope for the future and humanity. I taught students who fled that country.
