Spotted cows arguing on a day trip!

I'm not quite sure what to make of this!
It was fascinating!

Deer and twin fawns, Coyotes

Saturday's Critters #142

One of those special moments. I happened to look out in the backyard and spotted our doe and her twins. Born in May/June-ish, they have grown, but still sport the most amazing spots. They've been featured on the trailcam, but we seldom see them, of course.

Junior was about to exit the yard, down the path beside the shed, but no one followed it. It came back, and the three hung around as we watched from the deck.
They hung about in the yard, while I photographed them! I was kind of behind the lilac tree, but there were aware I was there.

I didn't realize that the spots down the fawn's back, were in a straight line!

The next day, Aug. 31st, I fetched the trailcam, and found one fawn did itself a selfie!

Waterfront Restaurant: Napanee for lunch!

It is the nicest spot for lunch, and quite popular! I began a sketch waterside...finished it at home. I have several nice photos for future sketches, say, in January, when we are frozen over!

Springside Park Napanee

This is part of our serious lunch trip, 116 km!
It's a lovely park! We passed it on our way in to the restaurant. You have to get there early to get a river-side seat, though! We arrived at 11:30, and snatched a table. Afterwards, we headed back to the park. It was the Napanee Mills back in the day.

There was serious grooming by the birds. Much fun.



I love the signage. Lots to learn, or things I've forgotten about glaciation, the Precambrian Shield and our blessed First Nations who put up with us.


This seagull was hopeful, but if you feed em' there will be trouble!



The light standards have been sponsored by individuals. Very poignant!


There is something peaceful about the river flowing by. This video I will go back to in the November freezing rain or hail!
