Trip to Stittsville

Off we went to Stittsville, to buy a new comforter. It was an adventure. We ended up with a taupe-coloured plain thing.
Perth and Highway #10, were pretty busy, for a Monday morning! The dandelions were glorious!

Still some flooding.

Lunch at Cabotto's

• 1868 – It was Kemp’s Tavern, a hotel and tavern, for travelers who passed by on horses.
• 1871 – The tavern was closed due to the railroad, people began to travel by train. It became a base for construction projects such as the railways and the cutting and hauling of wood for wood-burning locomotives. 
• 1910 – Bought by a young physician from Carp for a country estate named ‘Burlingame Farm’. 
• 1911 – It was sold again. 
• 1919 – It became a farm for milk and cattle.
• 1926 – Hydro was installed. 
• 1978 – It became Café Luigi’s.
• 1982 – The Chequers restaurant opened. 
• 1985 –  The building was designated under the Ontario Heritage Act. 
• 1998  – It became Kemp’s Steakhouse. 
• May 2003, Vincenzo Pucci bought it and began a new chapter in the buildings history by moving his long established Cabotto’s Restaurant to the building.

It was a lovely lunch, served by a nice young man who'd worked there for 14 years! We were the only patrons, which was nice, until a group were served in the other part of the first floor.
