Happy New Year; Hooray for our OPP men and women in blue

I hope you had a safe and happy New Year's celebration! I can tell, by Facebook, that many of you
did!

I wish you all the best that the world can bring: health, happiness, joy and love.
Something to do; someone to love; something to hope for!

I always think of those who serve, day in and day out.
I came across an OPP R.I.D.E. program last week, and both of the police officers were women! How cool is that?! I thanked them for doing good work on our behalf.

I remember our neighbours who horses escaped on a cold winter's night. One was hit by a car.
Both the attending veterinarian and the OPP officer who came were women. We're making gains, ladies. I fervently hope that my granddaughters are able to make choices, as much as my generation, and the one before, fought for!
Here is to !

Hooray for RIDE programs!

Rural Ontario residents have higher impaired driving rates than those in cities

Renfrew: 4: 1,000 convictions for impaired driving for every 1,000 licenced drivers
1.4: 1,000  in Ottawa.
1: 1,000 in Metro Toronto

The Global analysis found conviction rates were lowest in the central Toronto area that is bisected by the Yonge Street subway line.
