We have some new windows - it was time

Before: the wood was weary.

The handle had broken on the kitchen window. The outside of the windows were peeling paint, as the previous owners must have used the wrong paint to repaint it.

Weary windows!

This new vinyl will last a long time. Our windows, at the time - 30 years ago, were top of the line. They've learned so much more about insulation, caulking, and materials these days. It was great because they had a cancellation and a 1-day window of opportunity! 'Scuse the pun!
The salesman phoned at 7:30 a.m., saying our window were in, someone else's were not, could they come over?

"Sure," I said. It's only getting colder, and keeping the windows open ,whilst replacing them in December, wasn't a great thing to anticipate.

The bugs are mostly gone, except for the dreaded Asian Lady beetles. I caught 24 ladybugs, one beetle and 2 flies indoors.

The cats had various reactions. Daisy was terribly curious, but fearful of the strangers and the banging. Daisy didn't like the noise, but she was better than she had been with other renos. cc

Bug sucker, AKA pooter!
Caught 27 bgs!

Sadie, I found, didn't much care. Sadie is the reno queenYou can see her in the video! The fire hubby made in the basement was a huge draw. She usually sits on the heater in the morning, anyway. She's very sick with an awful cold! Wheezing and sneezing. Poor girl.

Our bathroom was renovated, before our time.
It used to be half its size. The original owner, Mrs. Love, insisted that she have a large walk-in closet. It had a window, fortunately. When they cut off the closet, to extend the bathroom, the new, large bathroom now had two windows. We have a tub and a separate shower, with a seat in it.

The new kitchen window flips out at the bottom, it's a little more expensive, but it gives a good view of the forest. And it doesn't have a centre frame, which makes it look larger, a great view while doing dishes.

During

Adam did a fine job, cleaning up after himself very nicely. I wonder if his wife knows he hang out of the windows?!
Somebody in our house has to paint the trim. That would be me. I did the bathroom and kitchen windows, but they need a further coat. I wiped myself out doing that. My energy levels are way down with this virus. One must pace oneself at my age!
