Good old hubby! My back has been sore. Caitlin and I had a facial and pedicure last week. This week, hubby decided to pamper me some more, and did an extensive bit of research to find a place with a bathtub whirlpool in the room. There aren't that many about!
We ended up buying a package: dinner, overnight in the bridal suite with the whirlpool tub! It was delightful. We were in the
Baldachin Inn. An old, old building. It is amazing. There is a beautiful dining room, which we have visited often, and house-made meals. My faithful readers know how important this is to hubby (no
dairy, yeast, eggs). The meal included appetizer, salad, dinner, dessert. The meal I couldn't finish (it was brunch the next day) and the dessert I similarly took home.

Friday, a grumpy Daisy. She missed us.
My leftovers were yummy. |
There were a few off-season problems: neither the TV nor the Wifi were working. The owners are in the middle of converting from cable to highdef TV, as well as a new wifi.
I finished my novel and hubby went out and bought me a couple of books to keep me going.
I forgot my toothbrush.
The stores in Merrickville are open 11:00 to 4:00 most days. However, many of the stores are only open Friday, Saturday and Sundays. Who knew? We did have a discount on off-peak days, as part of the package.
The beds are very high up, and we had to hop to get up on them! It was fun!
It is the most beautiful room, taking you back to the early days of Merrickville. The decor is amazing, high ceilings, huge mirrors in the renovated bathroom. The old wooden floors harken back to the day.
