Paypal VISA fraud

We were victims of bank fraud in May. All our bank accounts were closed, including my bank card and credit cards. What a pain-in-the-arse. It took weeks to set things right. Well, it happened again. This time, my bank card.

Tuesday, Oct. 10th

I had an issue with my Paypal account. My first clue was a strange message about eBay. I don't pay anything monthly to eBay. If you look at the sender's email address, you can see it is from 'service@intl.paypal.com'

I logged into Paypal, but had trouble. It told me owed them $18. Normally, a payment comes out of your bank account or your charge card, depending which is your primary for Paypal. I figured I'd sort that out later. It took some effort, but Caitlin found the Paypal phone number. It leads to an AI Chatbot, but eventually you can get a real person.

I closed my Paypal account. Then I began getting more messages from Paypal. Something was seriously wrong.

That morning, there was phone call from my credit card company. A robot, they said they think my card was compromised, and to phone the number on the back of my card. Then there was an email from them, as well. I phoned, and I was told that my card is at risk. There was a weird attemped fee on the card for VIMEO for $1.29 but I pay them annually.

I have to contact companies I pay automatically and change the card to the new one when it arrives in 4 - 10 business days.
