It's an old city, by Canadian standards, although there is evidence of First Nations presence dated to 1450, although I'm sure they were here earlier than that. There was an English settlement in 1784.
Known as the "City of the 1000 Islands", Brockville is situated on the land which was previously inhabited by the St. Lawrence Iroquoians[5] and later by the Oswegatchie people.[6] Brockville is one of Ontario's oldest communities established by Loyalist settlers and is named after the British general Sir Isaac Brock.
American visitors are reminded that people and guns must be declared to customs.
Look at the ivy!
Yes, they uploaded in the wrong order! That said, this is the railway tunnel, which we went through during Gramma Camp Day 4, in August 2019.

What a pretty spot! You have a wonderful Thanksgiving together... YAM xx
Enjoy your weekend.
I admit I'd never heard of Brockville, so had to look it up on maps. What a nice place to visit! I remember in the 70s driving to Canada at Niagara Falls, and declaring the rifle (a 22 my father had given us - come to think of it I don't remember what happened to it). We were allowed to keep it, as we drove just to see the falls. I loved the statue of women who had left abusive situations, and noted them in long dresses, which reminded me of how long it's been happening.
I love this trip, it looks amazing.
I also enjoyed the memorial to women who have suffered abuse.
A beautiful place, love the trees and open areas with water close by. Lady reading, she was lost in the huge chair.
Thanks for taking us along on your tour! Linda in Kansas
