I had a nice hair cut on Friday. It was the first time in ages I didn't have anxiety. Such a relief. I slept in until 8 a.m. today. A miracle. I am not as crumbly as I was. JB is managing a cold.
It's been a month since we've had a full day with sunshine. I just heard that on the weather report. It occurs to me that it is true. We've a light snow falling now.
Word of the day has to be apricity: the warmth of the sun on a winter’s day - and perhaps, by extension, a glimpse of sunshine after a long, hard chill. – Susie Dent
Vegetation Management continues on Crumbly Acres (<= the back story). It's been a long haul since the December snow storm.

I am making progress, although it is slow. It is a bit more evident. Thankfully. It is discouraging. I decided to fill containers with the cut up pieces. They will make fine kindling once they dry out.
I cannot do the biggest trunks, and I shall have to wait patiently until we get that done. Patience has been thin these days. This is such a limb. It takes too much juice out of the reciprocal saw, which only lasted a feeble half hour Friday. The smell of the pine sap is amazing, however. It's on my gloves, my saw, and my work coat. It's a hoot, the sweet smell, and the hard work.

Sunset was lovely.

...winter can be a rough time of winter.
Good catch of labbit and fox. Yes, she is just a lucky little thing. Oh the scent of all that pine sap...you sure gave me a good memory link. Now I'm going to drive around till I find a pine tree willing to have a conversation with me, where the owners won't see and complain about that strange old lady! My life is so devoid of all of your nature! So I appreciate your sharing it so much!
I am so glad that you decided to take the weekend off - you have been working incredibly hard.
And so your winter continues, down here, we have had more rain in so many places, the ladies tennis final at Auckland was delayed for the start, then a huge time suspension after the first set was almost finished. And we have a cyclone approaching . Mornings are already darker. Labbit, no doubt he is savvy and will have that safety hole under the deck all ready for a fast escape.

Thanks for that Tigger tease at the tail of your talk...🤭 You certainly get your work out with all that tending of the acres... YAM xx
It is sunny right now over here in CP. That is the benefit of a cold spell in winter — you finally get some sun. I understand that is going to change again soon.
A good day of sunshine seems quite elusive these days.
I'm so glad you were able to enjoy your haircut without the previous anxiety, my friend. You are such a sturdy and resilient person in my eyes Jenn
I wish someone in our house would work as hard as you do in yours!
I never heard the word, apricity, before! And, I consider myself a wordsmith! Thank you for that!
You're a perfect example of winter is fun if you get out in it.
Looks like you were trying to stay on top of things. Love your "normal" January photo.
A nice hair cut can do wonders to one's mood , especially in winter with its gloomy days.
Love Tigger hiding behind the tree. Check out the cordless chain saws! Those new smaller ones advertised on TV look workable. Linda in Kansas
can't get over how tame the deer are.
I think I just realized the reason I live in the city and not the country. I couldn't handle the outside work! Well done!
Look at all those limbs and branches! The trees are wonderful, but the maintenance looks hard. It would be worth it, though, to host the wildlife :)
