Our Ottawa kids landed in Istanbul, Turkey, Saturday, July 9th. They were scheduled to leave JFK at 18:55, but it was delayed until
We have had a fabulous week here. More on Day 4 in a post tomorrow, but here is a teaser. Our SIL made the photo comparison to Angry Edith in Despicable Me, after I posted Bryony's photo to the family photostream. We were at the splash pad in Perth.
Today I take a break to check in with the critters. We watched Bambi with our visiting Vancouver family. Happily momma doe visited us after dinner last night. She was in the back, just where they both were hanging out July 3rd, when they were visiting with the Ottawa clan prior to departure. Sadly no fawn appeared.

July 3rd we saw our first fawn in the front yard. Momma dined on my hosta while the fawn frolicked. We were watching from the front window.
From the front, they moved to the back.First fawn 2 from Jennifer Jilks on Vimeo.
They were upset with Nutmeg, who was on the sidewalk underneath. They are clever birds, hanging out in the nearly dead Catalpa tree:

This is a compilation. They didn't all appear at once! The young buck did a selfie.

And in the forest, there was a bear, or two bears (?) just motoring on through:

Thanks to Eileen for hosting: here are more critters: Saturday's Critters # 447.

Wow, great variety of critters. I love Bambi and the fawn, the bear is cool too. Great video capture of the Flickers. Your granddaughter is cute, I am sure she enjoyed the splash pad. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, enjoy your weekend. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.
...Bryony has attitude, she reminds me of my youngest granddaughter.
The little girl's expression is priceless. Great photo. I heard a little about the outage in Canada, and how the monopoly of that internet provider is dangerous. It could happen here in the US, just has not happened so far.

That was quite a foofaraw yesterday. Not so much for us or at least not for that reason.
What a flight your family had...but they safely finally arrived! Love your critters always. I'm not familiar with any younger film characters, since I haven't had any young people to watch them with. Have a great weekend!
Travelers hare being hard hit by airline scheduling difficulties from what my FB friends are posting. I'm glad they eventually fot where they were heading. It sounds like an exciting trip.
Those deer must be fun to watch. I'm still scared by the bear!
I hadn't heard about the outage -- that's a bad one. I'm glad they made it to Istanbul without delay and all -- seems like the airlines are bad these days! Love tha pouty face!
How wonderful that the kids got to see the fawn.
Hope your family has a safe and wonderful trip! Thanks for the beautiful nature and the news from north of the border. Sadly, we rarely beyond our borders. Perhaps that's why Americans have so little perspective. Have a beautiful weekend. We are all hoping for the best
I heard about that outage. Isn't it amazing how dependent we have become on the internet?
Love those critters.
So many affected without power, what a mess. So glad the family arrived safely, Flight Tracker is such fun.
Everybody I know traveling by air has a similar story. They eventually get to where they are going.
Love all your critters.
You've had a lot going on this past week. Thanks for taking time to share your photos. I love that little fawn. It's so rare that we see one that still has spots!
I have a different provider, so I wasn't affected.
Your videos of your magical forest are just amazing. I'm worried the bears might meet the deer. Linda in Kansas
Hello. Wonderful videos. I like specially the videos of flickers and bear.
We are currently in Lunenburg Nova Scotia and the outage affected a lot of the stores here as well. We cannot wait to get home in South Dakota and get our trail cameras out!
I kept watching the ears on that first doe, it's amazing how they can turn completely around to listen for danger.
Your grandchild's expression is so cute!
