What lurks out there in the dark?

Hubby has taken off to dispatch Meals on Wheels. They have added another community to his workload. It will be a long morning for my caregiver. Thankfully, I do not need him for my ADLs as much. He's been a brick, doing laundry, fetching quick meals, and housecleaning. Then there is the other stuff: feeding the birds, doing litter. Thankfully, we've no snow that needs shoveling so far.

I finally feel I have attacked the bacteria. The virus, as many can attest, will keep me coughing for awhile. I have had to abandon my two clients, for this I feel badly. Our newest granddaughter visits with her mommy and daddy this week. We have put off our planned visitation until I'm better.
Meantime, catch up on our critters!
  1. (Photos 1, 2 3) I love watching our white-tail deer. They like watching us. They visit in the night, as well. They amble around.  There seems to be a doe with twin yearlings, another doe with a single yearling, then a pair of does with one yearling. Then, Pickle Stabber (with one antler), and Sir, our 8-point buck.
  2. Buster has been so much better with his meds. His is a calmer, softer boy, no longer on edge, pacing like a panther, back and forth.
  3. Isabelle (age 5) found these  ♥ gel stickies last week (such a fun visit, where they found the tree frog in the plant!) and asked, "Do you need me to put these in the window, Gramma?" Of course, I did! They reflect the afternoon sunshine.
  4. We have a new buck. He's Pickle Stabber2 , a young buck, with two little horns. The doe was wary, since it is rutting season, and she took off. The twins didn't care one way or the other.
  5. At 11:56, Nov. 29th, I spotted Wily E. Coyote's shadow on the trailcam. There was a deer in that spot 14 minutes later. Interesting!
  6. Another shadow on the trailcam –can't be a cat, since they were all inside at 6:10 a.m. Nov. 30th. Then, the same thing a day later (Dec. 2nd, 10:46). It could be our red-tailed fox!
  7. Finally, my buck video, filmed from the kitchen window. He's a fine fellow! Still doing well, despite a bit of a chest ouchie.

The buck in the video appears quite secure in his surroundings. The deer in general must view your place as safe ground.

So glad you are on the mend, and Mr J can resume normal activities. Keep resting, keep warm, and those deer, I can see Mr J has been restocking the feeders regularly.Everyone must be so thankful he is a true carer as well.

I sure hope I miss the illness you've had. My trail cam arrived this week and we'll take it home on Sunday to check out what's happening after dark at our place. It'll be interesting for sure. Hope we don't see a bear, that would be unnerving. - Margy

Deer are so beautiful. In the years I have lived in Tulsa many of the areas that I go hiking no longer have any deer. I think because of the increased popularity of the areas.

Wonderful wildlife! Hope you're back and able to get out soon. We are on a roadtrip and I got behind on reading, but I've had fun catching up this evening. Thank ful for good wifi in this RV park! I won't comment on all of the posts I've missed because you are sick and don't need to read any more than toy have to. But I enjoyed them all.
