Isabelle's Birthday
Saturday was Mayfair at the kids' school in Ottawa. They tidied up, closed up, and began to make their way here. I got the signal that they were coming late afternoon. I sat out on the front porch with Annabelle, and spotted the rose-breasted grosbeak and the female cardinal.

It was Izzy's birthday last week, although her party was last weekend. Grampa had ordered a Beatles-themed cake, and t-shirt for Saturday. They always play The Beatles in the car on the way to shopping. Hence the image!

A two-part video; Grampa downloaded two songs. The first, 'Hail to the Chief' while the girls were downstairs watching a video. JL was tickled. Fake champagne was involved.
Then, the next part of the video was Izzy's birthday song.
Mother's Day
I cooked the bacon before Joffie did the eggs. Izzy took the orders to ensure that all got what they wanted. Isn't this cute?! She really got into the role.
JL, my SIL, cut our toast into a heart shape! Caitlin opened gifts. Joffie had made her mumma two lavender sachets that she had sewn in class.

Sunday morning, there were pressies for Momma and I.
This is the bowl, a Carnival fruit dish, that I bought on auction on the Friday. My gift to Caitlin. It was good of her to bring the gang for Mother's Day.

Next, a walk was called for. On the way we spotted a pair of geese. They'd been walking in the meadow, caught on the trailcam. Isn't this fun?!

Down we went to the pond. It was a surprise to see a pair of geese. They were on the trailcam.

You can see wood duck box #1 to the left of Caitlin. It has about a dozen eggs in it.

Joffie climbed the tree.

In the next photo, you see the meadow, with JL and Izzy sitting on the tree.

My son, Jesse (my middle child), did Facetime with his wee ones with me from Vancouver. They were off to see his MIL shortly.

My youngest son isn't speaking to me, yet my heart is full with the joy of the love of my children. Two out of three ain't bad. My youngest is gainfully employed, I just hope he is healthy and happy.
I hope all of you thought of your mothers on Mother's Day. Mine passed May 13, 2007, the day before Mother's Day that year. I often think of Mom. I am grateful for having been adopted.
Caitlin brought me two beautiful hanging baskets. Aren't they lovely? It was an amazing day.
