Plane crash on Carp Rd.

I watch the skies on the back deck. Soon it will be too cold! I love the birds, the planes worry me!

Yes, I read it on Twitter.

One has to check anything you read online. I dashed for the Flight Radar on my laptop, and saw this (below). The little red icon disappeared just after 14:00 hrs. The times on the radar are UTC, not local times. I thought this had to be the plane on Carp Rd.

Then, the next morning (Sunday) on the radio, I heard more about the crash. I read more online

"The craft was an ultralight Quad City Challenger II, a three-wheeled, two-seater with a wingspan of about 9.6 metres and a length of slightly more than six metres."

OK, the call signs don't match! But the plane image clearly disappeared off the radar.

I looked up the registration of the plane. It's C-IRGH. Peter Laing is the registered owner, and has a web page on building your own ultralight !

I wonder why Flight Radar doesn' have the right info!

...fortunately this isn't a common occurrence.

The ultralight planes are indeed a worry. They have multiplied and it's easier to get a pilot license. May God help them and us!
