Barred owl, Booboo Bear, bandwidth

That was a busy week. We had Caitlin's birthday, and the kids went home for next week.
Granddaughter Josephine was quite pleased they named a tropical storm after her!

Ambling down to the trailcams, I harvested the memory cards, then turned around and came back. As I did, I heard a whoosh of wings.

I knew something was up when I saw the camera. I keep a little piece of wood behind it to make it face down and capture the smaller animals. Booboo didn't like that. He removed it. I love the heavy breathing he makes. All the other critters have to be quiet in the forest. Not the bears. "Lemme fix that for ya!"

Also on the trailcam was our buck, whose antlers are growing nicely.

I heard the barred owl out back, and walked over to the edge of the wetland.

While looking for the owl, I spotted these huge puffballs!

A little later on, the owl was back. I figure it is a she, since she did that female solicitation sound. This was from our back deck!

I heard her, again, this morning.

We are just about over our usage plan. We'll have to be frugal for the next week or so.

The grandkids in Ottawa are not going to school in September. Their parents talked about it, and they'll be working from home, again. The parents have organized play dates for 'after school' and they have a plan.

There is no way we'll be able to do homeschooling with the girls on this rural satellite plan. We'll have to think it through. All spring they waived package limits, and we didn't have a problem homeschooling.
"What does this mean for you? Once you have used 100% of the monthly data included in your plan, your service will be restricted to 150 kbps for the remaining time in your current billing cycle. Normal plan speeds will resume at the beginning of your next billing cycle."

...the owl is amazing. This pandemic has highlighted the need for better internet connections for EVERYONE!

The owl in your pictures is cute!

There's big tension here, in my country, regarding opening of schools in September. It doesn't look good.
Schools are not only places for learning, but also places for keeping children off the streets.

That internet problem is an issue for so many people. What if you are working from home and you have kids that need to do on-line schooling? razy times.

Ample internet GB are so important, down here in Lockdown the usage was upped and everyone who worked or studied at home had sufficient., Love the owl, what a magnificent bird, so beautiful.

We use Xplornet, not always the fastest, but our only option. They have an unlimited plan for bandwidth for $59.99, not sure if you can get it where you live.

It's been such a long while since I have seen or even heard an owl and I miss them.

I sympathize with people who have kids to send to school. I din't think it's safe at all. You can't keep kids apart . Kids aren't made that way.

Love the owl photos! I have not seen a Barred Owl for years. They seldom are around here. We get the Eastern Screech Owl fairly often and the Great Horned Owl off and on.

Yes, rural internet is a problem. We paid extra to get more speed a couple of time this year but then we only get 60gb/month. Glad we do not have to use it for children's school; we just have our own courses that we keep signing up for.

I know it's another expense, but can you not increase your plan while the girls need more access?
