Morning walkies, et al

First, an update. We finally found the bugle mouthpiece! It's been lost for two weeks. All of us have looked for it!

I had set the bugle down just beside the post. It fell right over, it being old and crooked, just like me! Caitlin looked behind the bookcase, I looked under the stairs, Izzy looked under the couch, JB looked around, too. Hubby finally found the mouthpiece when he went to empty the white garbage can, in the centre of the photo, to the left of the bookcase.

Also: our wifi is deteriorating. We've had an Apple product for 7 years, airport express base station. Time for a new one. I may or may not be back shortly!

In the front yard, I spotted some deer in the dark.

I was wondering what had happened to the horse chestnuts. They were cleaning them up! The next night, our big buck was here in the dark. I didn't get a photo.

The leaves are falling. Here they were Oct. 10th.

And on Monday, Oct. 22nd.

Another delightful walk in the morning sun.

These are the five sisters. Lovely big old trees.

OK, back to work shoevling dirt! I'm nearly done.

glad you found the mouthpiece, when things go missing I always say 'it'll show up', we have no other choice sometimes.

autumn does set in apace... our clocks go back this coming weekend - and that's the end of it, pretty much. On comes winter... and as I rode the bus over to Edinburgh today, I noted Christmas decs going up in Glasgow! YAM xx

Where is that quad bike I suggested ages ago? Maybe you tow the trailer behind the ride on? Love those changes in colours, we have a cold spell here, fire has been going for 2 nights and 2 days now. cold wind, and more rain this morning. Spring? Where has it gone? XXX

I can see how deer would go for those. The fall colours are beautiful!

I'm so glad you found the mouthpiece. I hate when things are mislaid somewhere.

I didn't know deer ate horse chestnuts too. We had a huge tree in front of our house in Illinois and we thought only squirrels could eat them.
