What a delightful escape. A virtual trip to escape reality, the election, healthcare issues. And we didn't have to pay too much for it!

The pageantry was amazing. Nary a hitch. A fairy tale fit for a princess. And the fascinators. Even the little boys who got up early loved the uniforms. Nice to see the men all dressed up, swords belted firmly.

The wedding guests varied from traditional hats, to modern hats and gowns. Guests from all around the world.

I pulled out my wedding photos, and my daughter's wedding photos, and we will reminisce about those affairs! We have some 2nd hand hats, dress ups, and my late mother's wedding gown to view. We will watch the ceremony tonight, over a glass of wine, and enjoy it.

Traditions are a thing of the past. If you don't honour the past, and understand where you have come from, you will not understand the present and have a vision for the future.

The ladies fascinators are a visible demonstration of the British sense of humour. They take life seriously but take themselves with a sense of humour.

I wore my wedding dress again!

With a loved one running for office, it was a sensible moment to take a break and time off.

Many in the US and Canada have suffered from this latest storm, but this is a brief moment to reflect, to breath deeply, and sigh at the sheer joy of 1 million Brits cheering happily for their Royal Family!

Bala Bay Inn party

A wedding party, anxious for outdoor shots, crowded onto the balcony and the balcony collapsed. No one was seriously hurt. Thank goodness. Emergency Responders were there quickly.

The Inn is a popular place for wedding receptions.

July 17, 2010, they will celebrate 100 years. Originally called the Swaztika Hotel, situated on the old Bala road, which was a cow path in those days, it was renamed to be politically correct!

Duck, duck, goose!

At home, Brian reads, while the geese feed. Yes, they are still here, munching away on my clover. GLorious September!

Brian sits reading, on a lovely afternoon. Still, the geese visit. I went down to sit with him. Unfortunately, Oliver came down with me. He ran towards the geese and scared them off. They are 3 times his size!

So glad the geese are still here. The water hyacinth, which they decimated in June, have now died. The temperatures are just too cool. They will leave us soon.

We were taking a drive...on our way into town for my book signing.

After my big book signing, we decided to go the the Bala Bay for dinner. Right now they are open W/Th/ and on the w/e.

Soon, they, too will be closed. There were a lot of people all dressed up. It was rather fun!

Lo and behold, it was over run with wedding guests! I had dressed up and wait staff thought we were wedding guests, too. It was a bit noisy, we were quite fatigued, and we pretty much ate and ran leaving the young people to their party!
