Thanks to all the folks who sketch, draw or paint. It is a lovely hobby for me, and they are inspiring.

Paint Party Friday
Yes, I know I'm late to the party, but it's the way it is!
Paint Party Friday: Week 11, Year 8 Check-in
We had a wonderful trip through our forest hunting turtles for a Blanding's (our turtle survey). I have turtles on the brain. This is a combination of pencil crayons, fine markers to outline, and my blue sharpie.
I even created a turtle bar, just for fun, for the blog post.
There are some wonderful How To online teachers out there. I visited Brown Paper Bunny last week.
I don't use paint at my client's house, when I sit with her twice weekly.
These are fine markers, which require a different technique. I did my blue schmoo with pencil crayon.

Paint Party Friday
I worked on a few pieces. We were an hour at the dentist and I was 3 hours with my client. It's fun. My photos helped me with a bit of a guide.
Hubby went first. I decided to draw. I'd brought my lovely carrying case for my drawing materials and my iPad. Jean, I love you! I'm taking it to my client's house, as well.
We had appointments for teeth cleaning. As we backed up, you can see the deer behind the car. They weren't moved by us moving.
The dude in the 2nd photo, was checking recycle bins for bottles with deposit money (i.e. liquor store bottles). Not dangerous at all, is it?

Waterfront Restaurant: Napanee for lunch!
It is the nicest spot for lunch, and quite popular! I began a sketch waterside...finished it at home. I have several nice photos for future sketches, say, in January, when we are frozen over!

Paint Party Friday
I added some details. Probably overdid it, but it was fun! My 2 grandies in the boat, a fire, a butterfly and castle.
I prefer the sharpies and small markers for the details.
My first effort: I did some painting! I did some snow painting...Paint Party Friday: wait'll you see!
Then some sketching. The first is from a blog buddy's photo (found it), the second the waiting room from yesterday's post, trip #50 into the city for medical issues.

Paint Party Friday
I attended a Paint and Sip! It was a week ago. We've been having fun showing my friend, Yam, about the town. She is an amazing person, and we've been having so much fun. Yam's energy and spirit is just wonderful. We've traveled miles and miles, showing her THIS Perth (Ontario), Westport , Kingston, our lochs, and other parts of the region. (More on this later!)
Veronica was the artist, but she had another artists, Tara, to help her.
Melissa organized the event as a fundraiser for the Museum. I think there were about 14 of us. I will, of course, do some final work on my painting, as I did last time after my paint and sip: adding some fine work in marker. The Polish flag will become a Canadian one! Hopefully, I will have time next week!
It is interesting the styles of various participants. The gentleman was very thoughtful, using precision, pointillism technique, as well as a pencil to plan. He also added a spinnaker to his sailboat. Most of the pieces were gentle, calm, lovely pastel colours, but I knew where I was headed!
I ruined my trees. Veronica suggested some yellow on top of the green to give the trees more depth. I ruined them.
The couple at my table were fun. She wanted her hubby to attend, since he was interested in buying a sailboat. Some of the attendees were supporters of the Museum.
The drive home was wonderful. I traveled through Appleton, just as the sun was setting. On highway 15, as dusk set, I encountered a deer and a fox crossing the road. Later, nearer home, a skunk scooted across the highway only a few metres in front of the car!

I did some painting!
Paint night with Anna-Lisa! It was at the Perth Legion. What a fun time. I was a bit worried about being in such a large group, but I did OK.
Yes, my friend tells me, 'trust you to be different.' This is what Anna-Lisa said, to make it our own. I taught elementary art, as part of my integrated curriculum, for 25 years. My kids were encouraged to do their own thing. None of my student's art looked the same.
The woman with the lovely sunset colours is an actual artist.
I finished it off at home, on the back deck, with some sharpies! Nebuchadnezzar is featured prominently. My daughter gave me something she painted at a similar event in 2013.
