Hubby said it would be the last summer-like day and he wanted to go to Barry's Bay and Golden Lake. We stopped a couple of times in Golden Lake on our way from Muskoka <=> Ottawa. The hills, especially Calabogie, are lovely, living as we do on flat, shallow wetlands in Lanark County. We passed the ski hills.
We saw a buck, and several spots where Momma turkey had her chicks playing in the ditch!
Lots of old barns.

I missed telling him the turn for CR #34, and we had to take the next right, this led us to Kennelly Mountain Rd. and Mount St. Patrick. It was beautiful!

Calabogie... an old bridge and the boat launch.
