Look at this June shot - can you tell I am anxious for spring?! I keep praying for patience! There is no question that the best skies can be photographed in summer. The contrast of the blue with the greenery of summer...the white birch bark outstanding in the forest!
The pines look richer, the blue brighter...

in winter, the lens squints in the bright light of the snow.
The blue shadows, with low light levels, make photography tricky.
Yet, the snow takes on its own shade of blue.The dead scrub, fallen over with the weight of the snow storms, look like massed rocks.
It is as if Mother Nature paints a special picture for us, helping us appreciate the entire rainbow, but at different times of the year.
