Lanark County Harvest Festival 2015

LanarkCounty Tourism
I was invited to visit this free festival. It is always important to support local producers.

It was a grand spot to be, even in the rain! We had 35 mm of rain today near Perth, I think Beckwith had about the same. Dear hubby went to the car to fetch my brolly, as I thought the sun was coming out.
This was some of my haul!
It was wonderful seeing all the local farmers, bee keepers, and people who put food in jars for us to enjoy all year long. We bought some honey, honey butter, pickled garlic scapes, swiss chard, granola, and sauce.

It was fun when the rain came down, a lot of customers were invited under the booth and into the tents by the producers. There was much laughter and giggling,as we sampled the products.

On Sunday, September 13th,  the Lanark County Harvest Festival celebrated local products and producers with a farmers’ and artisans’ market; jewelry, cooking demonstrations, local museum displays (i.e., Carleton Place and Beckwith Heritage Museum), a workshop on foraging for wild mushrooms, a harvest church supper, and a maple syrup seminar.

We have so many farmers, who feed cities! See all of my photos here.
