Stormy, cloudy, and sunny skies!

July 12th – That was a most peculiar day, with rain on and off. Clouds would roll in, I'd retreat into the house and then head back out.
I am reminded of my favourite cloud photo, this was over Bracebridge quite a few years ago.

The YOW airport reported a wind gust of 141 km/h at 1:52pm today. That would be the fastest wind ever recorded at the airport. I'm not convinced that it's accurate; but there are power outages in the area so ...

 Ottawa had some power outages!

Kingston got it bad, lots of lightning strikes. We only had a few, but lots of rain.

I love a good storm!

Later, a plane went overhead. I wondered where it was headed and if it missed the storms.
It was a relief to get rain. It's been a bit spotty. I haven't had to water, though.

The skies are horrific in Ukraine.

I've been watching the skies over Ukraine, and the Black Sea. The US, and NATO are patrolling overhead. This is comforting, although Ukrainians are suffering so much, I don't know what can be done.

The kids, now in Athens, are doing the tourist thing! Their photos are amazing. I picked a couple from the family photo stream that fit my theme of skies.

Great shots of the sky and weather, Jenn (and family)... as for Ukraine... I fear it warrants only a tiny side column in the news these days. Seems the media would rather chase around after the puppets masquerading as politicians here in 'the other UK'... sigh... YAM xx

It must have been localized to the south. I remember one thundershower on Tuesday, but nothing out of the ordinary.

Two nights ago thunderclouds rolled through after we'd waiting all day for rain...lots of lightening kept me awake an extra hour, then finally rain. And yesterday's forecast of rain never materialized. So summer showers go, around here. Ukraine continues to suffer, as I'm afraid they have no options.

Rain would be nice. We got a bit of a sprinkle yesterday morning but not much.

I do love clouds and never tire of watching them. Storms can worry me though.

We had booming and shaking earlier this afternoon but no rain. I sure hope we get some.

That's heavy rain when it spills over the gutters or "eavesdrops" as you call them.Good for the garden, and I think the skies look bluer and the air cleaner. Just my take on a good downpour!!!

Man you guys have had some bad storms lately!!

The Russians are sure engaging in some brutal tactics. Just kind of shows the limits of sanctions. Talk about a mess if they shut off natural gas to Europe. No way that Europe can build enough LNG capacity in time.

Wonderful clouds, but very weird sort of scary weather. No wonder that first picture is your favorite cloud one -- looks like you could dive into that sky pool!

The pano from Athens birds eye view is just amazing. Ukraine is suffering and prayers to all of them. Cloud formation is in deed a wonder through your lens.

Athens looks amazing. I enjoyed watching the rain pouring down.
If someone would just take out Putin....wouldn't that help a lot?
