Bird watching

I'm a bit behind on reporting the birds... this pileated woodpecker appeared on the day our new carpet was installed (Nov. 29th). I went outside to fill the feeders when the men took a break, and here he was bashing away at the tree right above them. You can see his tongue in the 3rd photo.

Still coughing and sneezing. Hopefully, I'll be on the mend soon. This gives me time to birdwatch.
The other bird, perhaps a female purple finch, was visiting with a couple of friends. This was before our big snow storm on Dec. 5th!

The cardinal has been an irregular regular visitor. Just one, just the male. He's very shy, and I'm having a hard time taking his photo. These are through the front window.

How beautiful/handsome they are!!! Just back from a mini-break mid-Scotland... in the driechest weather we have had since last winter - but still we enjoyed ourselves. Determination! YAM xx

Honey, lemon, and a dash of whisky, will that help ? Keep warm. Love the way your cats all contribute to the snow problem!!

Bird watching from the couch is better than no bird watching at all.
