What is the best gift you've ever been given?

Today is my birthday. The best gift is having the kids here. Hubby brought me coffee. My daughter made be breakfast! An English Girl  suggested the topic. I loved it!

I had Bun Bun, a rabbit, missing an ear, stuffed with straw! Yes, that is how old I am!
I cremated my dad with his straw animal. A bear, I think. I can't remember.

But my favourite gift was a wonderful doll my Nanny gave me. She was an amazing woman, a real Christian, ahead of her time. She'd wrap presents so that there was nary an edge untaped. It made unwrapping presents tricky!

Happy Birthday, Jennifer!

In my case it was a painting my parents gave me one Christmas.

that's a fine mixture of old and new. I don't have Christmas photos of the distant past. We never took any. I have photos of my kids and Christmas.

All the years I was growing up I dreamed that there would be a horse on the lawn, even though I grew up in the suburbs of Los Angeles. Our house wasn't far from the LA river with stables, so the dream wasn't too far fetched. It never happened, but after I married Wayne we lived near a park with a stable. He heard my horse stories for years. One Christmas morning we walked to breakfast near the park and he stopped behind the stable and asked if I would like a horse like the one in the pen. It was a beautiful horse. He said, let's go inside to look. That was very strange. When we got there, he surprised me with my Christmas present. A horse of my own. I guess the moral is, never give up on your dreams. I got a dream husband and a dream horse, all in one. - Margy

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JENNIFER!!!
Yes my old straw bear was a favourite gift and stayed with me until I left OZ in 2011... he had died his own death, couldn't take any more surgery; still missed! Hope your weekend continues to add to this wonderful memory pool for you. Hugs, YAM xx
