Froggin' time again. Daisy has been bad!

wood frog
Yes, the girls have been busily hunting for frogs. Mostly they play with them, and I rescue them. The other day, between them, they found a wood frog, tree frog, green frog; Geraldine bullfrog continues to elude them. She sits in her plant pot, or in under the primrose, seeking bugs and leopard frogs to eat. Yes, she is an omnivore. You can watch her mighty jump to eat the grasshopper here.

The frogs love the wet, dewy grass, and the cats have learned this. It's funny seeing the cats shoulder-deep in violets, hopping to follow a wee frog. I feel badly for the frogs, but the cats get bored, or distracted, and leave them alone. I've only seen the late Felix cat eating one.

Gray tree frog, yes, it is now green
If you pick them up, ensure that your hands are clean. Don't panic if they pee on you. It's normal. Please put them back where you found them. They are good little bug catchers, and the cycle of life is important.

Amazing how they change colour

so cute

Green frog - notice the white hair on it.
Daisy was standing on it
with both paws.

I popped it into the pond
where Daisy couldn't get it!

I envy you with all the frogs. You also have a super knowledge on frogs. There are very few frogs left here. I heard a few sing this year.

This is so cute. There was a time when our daughter was big into frogs and she had frog mugs, hats, t-shirts, stuffed animals, stamps, sculptures, etc. all over her room. I was wondering if this love of frogs would be inherited by our granddaughter. So far... not yet.

Oh these are just beautiful... or should it be handsome...? Either way, like Red, I envy you the being able to interact so closely with them all. We live through your posts! YAM xx
