Won't be glad to see these put away for the summer.
Those of us who appreciate the quiet of a cottage country lake find is despoiled by those who drive their boats and personal water craft around and around in circles. Within 30 m (100') of shore, the speed limit is 10 km/hr. Dangerous driving, following too closely, kids under age 16 illegally drive PWCs. Powerful machines that pollute the water and air. They have driven me, and people I know, away from the lake. They drive wildlife away from the lake, as loons duck, and heron fly away.
Farewell.
Saying farewell to summer and the lake, the heron popped in, again for a visit. Watch for the surprise at the end. So caught up I was watching through the viewfinder, I failed to spot it!

Its kind of like goodbye to the bad and the good. The heron's flight is very graceful so close to the water.
I really hate the PWC on the lake. They should be banned. They make so much noise and many waves riding around and around.
We have a few jet skis on our lake, but not many. Probably because it is more remote and used mostly by locals. All is pretty quiet now. When we head up and down from the float very few cabins are occupied. We feel so fortunate to enjoy our in all seasons. - Margy
Pretty Heron - nice catch! At least boaters appear to be one family or group. I think it really gets dangerous when you have dozens of unrelated vessels crossing and playing without a lot of thought or communication. W.C.C.
I watched your clip with the heron flying away, then the second one. You and your husband must feel the same, flying away. It is sad but I hope that you will be very happy in your new home. Unless there is a strong police presence I don’t think people will keep the 10km/h limit on the lake – that’s just the way more and more people are becoming everywhere – very selfish and not caring about anything other than themselves.
