A wedding party, anxious for outdoor shots, crowded onto the balcony and the balcony collapsed. No one was seriously hurt. Thank goodness. Emergency Responders were there quickly.
The Inn is a popular place for wedding receptions.
July 17, 2010, they will celebrate 100 years. Originally called the Swaztika Hotel, situated on the old Bala road, which was a cow path in those days, it was renamed to be politically correct!

Ouch! Can you imagine? Where's Mike Holmes when you need him!
Glad no one was hurt.
Funnily enough, Dave and I were hoping to have our wedding reception at the Bala Bay Inn but it was booked. It looks like a beautiful spot.
By the way, I just love your top photo. Beautiful.
That looks like it could have disastrous! They were lucky indeed. A great old inn, The Bala Bay Inn. 100 years, wow!
So glad no one was hurt cause it sure could have been a terrible to begin a life together.

P.S. I too like your header photo!
Oh how nasty...on such an important day to that couple.....at least it will be a fun story to tell to their children and grandchildren.....
And yes! I also agree Love those Lilies and gorgeous shoreline shot!!! How is the new zoom lens working out????? Are you happy with it's performance?????
It is a great old inn, purportedly haunted, too.
My late mother always felt a presence.
I never did get a new lens! Too many other priorities!!!!
