Spam & pornography & Internet Safety

For the umpteenth time, I have had another 'comment' from someone who doesn't realize I scan and moderate comments. With the high number of hits my blogs receive, I am at risk for such.

It is so frustrating. I went to the main webpage, and, appalled, spotted some incredibly shocking images. I cannot imagine what children think when they come across these photos showing women fondling and licking men's sexual organs. Truly, this kind of thing fantasize the sex act and makes men think that this is their due.

It inures men watching, to need increasingly erotic images in order to get an erection. Which is why pedophiles need increasingly escalating images to get off on it. What can you do about it? Very little, except screening your comments. I did go to the www address of the host website, and was incredibly shocked as the page doesn't even warn that it holds nude pornographic images. At the bottom of the page was an 'admin@emailaddress' and I sent a complaint about this user. Who knows? It could be one of those who make money off of the page, but it was something to do.

The e-mail bounced back, of course. This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification.
Delivery to the following recipients failed.

I then went to Cybertip.ca, most countries have such. I sent the URL to cybertips.ca. But I have little doubt that it is an adult porn site. I have given presentations on Internet Safety to parents and students. It is well worth it to monitor your children on the computer. Especially, if they have hotmail accounts. They will be preyed upon by Tom, Dick and Hairy. In curiosity, they will visit these sites. And can be sucked into this vortex of porn and power over women and children. Eventually, they can be groomed by those who prey. They don't realize that in incremental steps they are being controlled.

Pedophiles groom their victims by pretending to be on their side, by disclaiming the power parents have over the child, becoming their friend, when the child is actually their prey. Be vigilant. Go to the history browser after your child has been on the computer. Ask to see their friends list. Explain to them that their 'friend' may not be...

Dear Admin,

I publish a blog for seasonal tourist and fellow Muskoka residents, as well as a large group of of friends who are similarly grandparents.
My 2-year old granddaughter visits my site with her mom to see what "Gamma's doing". Fortunately, I do not let just anyone post, but screen comments.

I had a comment recently, promoting your site and I am truly offended. It was posted to my blog called, "Grandparenting from afar", in which I celebrate this technology for helping grandparents visit virtually with their far away grandkids.

It came from www.XXX.c0m/members/hisname and said...

"Well it turns out my girl friend of 2 years has been cheating on me for weeks. I know she and her friends hang out on this site so thought it would be the perfect place to post every last nude photo and video I have of her. Just go to..."

I am very, very upset. This is offensive. You are making women into objects and helping to promote domestic assault and violence against women.

Please tell this person to take off. I am a grandmother.
My site is for fun. This is a disgusting abuse of women, pornography, and promotes sexual abuse, pornography,  rather than the beauty of love between partners.
