It's Paint Party Friday. These trees line the back of my nonagenarian client's property. (I spend three hours, twice a week, trying to find funny tales to tell her and make her laugh.) They have some bird houses, as well. They inspired my sketch.
It's quite the storm coming up the eastern seaboard. The blue is snow, greens are rain. We have lost 35 cm of snow cover in two days. We had 20 mm rain last night.
Snapshot of 7 am temperatures across Ontario - dramatic drop in temps heading south & eastwards today. This morning's rain & fog to give way to ice & snow! Timing & amounts on @weathernetwork. Then there is the political storm. I heard this quote on the radio, I think it was a book author.
"We really need to learn to ignore the things that don't add value to our lives."That said, we must look for the truth. Our world is richer for the modern immigrants who seek a better life. This is called human capital. The lives they live enrich us all.
Two weeks ago a 26-year old soldier raced repeatedly into a burning Bronx apartment building, saving four people before he died in the flames. His name was Pvt. Emmanuel Mensah and he immigrated from Ghana, a country Donald Trump apparently thinks produces very subpar immigrants.— Bill Kristol (@BillKristol) January 12, 2018
We must look for the good people who surround us. This is multicultural Toronto, where I grew up.
When Syrian refugee Mazen Khalaf was faced with a customer who couldn't pay the bill at the station where he works, he dipped into his own pocket because “somebody helped me (come to Canada). I’d like to help people, too.”https://t.co/CbHj3ZHmTx— TorontoStar (@TorontoStar) January 12, 2018
