UPDATE: Canadian police report at least 145 sudden deaths in Metro Vancouver amid ongoing heat wave; number expected to rise
— BNO News (@BNONews) June 29, 2021
In B.C., things are really heating up. Lytton reported a temperature of 47.9 C.
The "heat dome" that has settled in the Pacific Northwest has made its way to Alberta, where temperatures reached the low 30s on Sunday. Temperatures will likely peak near 40 C in some parts of southern Alberta mid-week, Environment Canada said. Parts of Saskatchewan, Yukon and the Northwest Territories are also expected to see high temperatures associated with the heat wave.
At my parents' house in Squamish BC the tempered glass panels in the deck railing are exploding in the heat. Thermometer reading 46° in the shade. 😬 pic.twitter.com/BVfSganzkY
