Not to bore you with all the photos, but I do want to record the damage. It helps me to process it, and figure out a plan of attack. We'll have to get someone in, and I need to figure out what I want done.
I'm feeling a little better today. It's a bit of a shock, and to see those majestic poor white pines... The sun brings a new day. It was a nice view at 5:30!
Tree House White Pine Tree
We spotted the fallen pine tree branches from the house, the next day, July 2nd, another big fall. These beautiful old white pine trees are susceptible to the wind. This is the tree with the tree house. It whipped off the top in two spots.

Barry Beaver's Aspen trees are down. In the spring photo you can see all the older Aspen trees on the right, reflecting the sunshine. They are all down.
I think we need to wait to see how much Barry eats and/or moves. In the fall we can call in our people to harvest the wood. Burning Aspen isn't as good as other hardwoods, the BTU is very low in comparison. This is why Barry prefers Aspen and Willow.
Barry has continued to work on it... the doe did an inspection.
From there I went on down to the point. (Maybe that's where I got my tick, a nymph!) The edge of the wetland is chaotic.

Wow! You could make a lot of toothpicks with that wood. Bet the tree guys are busy for a year around your neighborhood. Maybe prioritize on a safety, access to daily needs and animal care. Do your cameras show any little tornadoes dancing around? Be safe! No bouncing around the roof! Will your area provide brush pick up if you get it to the curb? Or a dump site? Makes a lot of compost. It looks like the damage will keep you busy for quite a while.
What a wreck. It's overwhelming when you first see this on your property. You either have to be very strong and handy to clean this up or hire someone.
Oh wow, that is extensive! So much clean-up, I'm glad you can put off some of it. See what Barry does. I'm sorry that you lost some beautiful trees.
Oh Jen, this is so sad. I hate seeing trees go, nice, healthy beautiful trees. It's such a big job -- I hope Barry will be a good help. Still feeling sad about Little Fred. Was this a tornado or just a major wind/lightning storm? It was fierce.

Wow. So much damage. Be careful while you are working out there.
Dealing with downed trees is so hard. One of the good things I was able to do was hire someone to clear the area. One guy used a forest mulcher and mulched up all the downed trees. The difference was amazing and it brought back some good health to that area!
