The snow was a bit of a shock. I knew it was coming. It does signal that we are in that part of the season. It isn't unexpected, but it was still a shock! This was the view out the back deck!
Once the sun came up, it was pretty.
Monday is garbage day. Off I went. Happily, the sun came out and it melted. I didn't have to shovel anything.
These are the sumacs my arborists were going to down Monday. More on that tomorrow.
After taking the garbage out, coming back into the house for a hot cup of coffee, and snuggling under my blanket, is a treat.
The poor rhododendron! I shall have to wrap them soon. That's on my To Do List.
In the meantime, the kids in Ottawa are having fun. Aster's Pathfinder group went down to Parliament Hill. Can you see her?! She told us she was at 9:00 o'clock, and closest to the fire, in the image from the live cam on the hill.
The kids in Vancouver are having fun, as well! They went to a community Hallowe'en Party!

Aye, tis the season... except that I am basking in bright sun and 16°C!!! A very strange end of October experience but one I'm most grateful for. YAM xx
Glad the grands are out having a good time, while you've got your blanket and hot coffee after the "big Monday garbage chore." Somehow these chores do mark our lives, don't they?
No snow in CP that I could see.
Snow? Say it isn't so! (It's 71 here today) Hope you get back a bit warmer soon!
No snow here, we are still enjoying some dry mild weather. Take care, enjoy your day!
SNOW! wow, beautiful big flakes. So peaceful, and glad you didn't have to get the shovel out.
A cup of coffee when snowflakes are falling is never a Miss. Thank you for showing your striking Parliament building. Stay safe and warm my friend. Aloha
I hope that I don't see snow for at least another month.
You do well to keep contact with the grand kids. I think they not only develop but we do too.
I love your welcome friends banner.
Wow, the first snow in October
Snow already? So soon, too soon -- hope you only have snowfalls that melt for at least a month. Fun getting pics of your "kids" and grands having fun -- I love that too.
How fun! We don't get a lot of snow here, maybe once every 8 years.
That's a real pretty sight and pretty banner. Nothing like coming in from the cold and having a hot drink. How very nice to see your family enjoying themselves.
OMG! My daughter told me they had 80 degrees yesterday in Chicago.
