Friday was a hoot. We lost power for a half hour. I did some vacuuming later – after the power came back! Then the storms rolled in after I squeezed in some weeding. A massive storm with much thunder and lightning.
🎾We sat down to TV, after JB brought home groceries, and the TV satellite went down. So much for tennis!
The rain gauge over flowed as the tube holds 1". We had 1.75" and the goldfish pond overflowed.
We have veggies! Not ripe yet, but you can see them growing. Cheery cherry tomatoes. With all our critters, this is the safest way to grow them. I water them daily, which is handy, as well.
The horse chestnut tree has finished blooming. Little chestnuts are forming. The Clematis looks amazing behind the deer fence.
They are tricky to photograph! They keel over with the weight of the large blooms. The plant has doubled in size since I moved it.
This was a find, this plant. An Itoh Peony (Paeonia 'Bartzella' ). It was too hot beside the dark brown walls of the house. I transplanted it and it is thriving. I think I counted 9 buds!
The pink peony blossoms after the more fragrant white:
The milkweed are more than knee-high, waiting for Monarchs. I either saw one, or spotted a Viceroy. Too far way to tell. Either way, we are ready.
Heading down to the trailcam, it scurried up the tree in fright.A sweet little sapling in the sun.
Fred continues to build a nest in the burrow.

...your clematis is a showstopper.
Good morning. I wish we had received some of your rain. Chipmunk in a tree is rather rare.
My milkweed flower garden is growing like crazy. I am so looking forward to the heady scent of those wonderful flowers just outside the bedroom window.
Hello,
I love your clematis and the peony blooms, very pretty.
Have a great day and a happy week ahead.
I heard about the outage over your way. The day before we had a Telus interruption over here. I was on the phone with my doctor's office when she couldn't hear me although I could hear her.
You are so productive! I think I would have settled in with a good book. The plants are looking great!
You are full speed ahead in an intense growing season. You sure have a lot of plants doing well.
Your garden is doing so well. Love the peonies.
Those flowers!
Chipmunks are such fun to watch. I tried to discourage them for years but have come to embrace the cuteness.
I love your peonies which for some reason I cannot grow. They emerge from the ground but fail to flower.
Lots of color . And Fred!
Your garden plants look wonderful. I still have not planted all the seed that we have.
So many beautiful flowers & beasts in your garden. The Freds make me chuckle.
Your peonies are gorgeous and I see you'll probably get a lot of butterflies.
