Saturday's Critters

It is the sword of Damocles hanging over our heads. It has been cold (below 0 C), after ice rain, then snow. It has snowed every day all week. Today we get a Colorado Low, and all will melt with 9 C. temperatures. The tree are bending with the with of more than one snowflake.

The fisher is an infrequently irregular visitor.

The buck is after the pumpkin. I sped it up as he worked on it a long time!

Eventually, I moved the last pumpkin.

JB went out to the car, King Charles moved reluctantly. When JB opened the front door, the birds scattered. The buck watched. If you view the video, and listen, you can hear their conversation.

I know the snow can be onerous for you - but golly, that is all so pretty, and the critters just are the ornaments on top! YAM xx

Lots of action for your cameras. I have seen a Fisher on the property only once so far. Locals call them "Fisher-Cats." Our granddaughter did a good job of fracturing a half dozen pumpkins and scattering them all over the yard. Deer, squirrels and some birds have been seen eating them.

Oh my! King Charles is such a stunner!

Deer brains must be designed to talk with birds, and perhaps they have learned men with big sticks are to fear...but sadly I don't think they've evolved the imprint needed for cars. King Charles IV seems to really like bird seed and pumpkins. Wonder how he'll survive all winter!

I was hoping to get more pics while it lasted. Alas, it will be gone tomorrow, and I am busy today.

The deer feel no danger there. It's 67F and raining here right now. I saw a deer this week, but it was roadkill by the side of a hwy that runs through the city. I was on my way to a suburban antique mall. 😢

Love your critters and hope the snow eases off and doesn't damage your precious trees.
