Traffic and travellers

It was slow going on the Friday of this August long weekend.

Eventually, I found out why. The long weekend started off with a bang on Friday afternoon. Many thanks to our volunteer firefighters!

Everything is in colour!

It is hay season! This is cottage country...

Looks like the retirement home Part 3, is getting finished! The construction fences are down.

I think Perth needs a ring road! The truck needed the left turn lane to turn right.

The renovations are coming along for our Ottawa family while they tour about New Zealand!

The kids made it to Wellington and we had a really fun chat with the kids on Thursday evening. I had a Facetime request. I paused our Amazon Prime show: The Tower. The Fearsome Foursome Flyers Drivers met up with Jean, of All Points of the Compass. She hosted the kids for lunch! Isn't that fun?! I have never met her, but we have done Facetime.

I have been relying on Siri: "Hey, Siri, what time is it in New Zealand?"  (I have a hard time keeping up!)

In 2016, Jean had sent a package to Caitlin for my 60th birthday.  What a surprise! What a kind woman. I wish I could have sent something for Jean, but the kids were quite minimal in their packing.

The whole group, including Jean and Hugh!

They are beginning to move into phase 2 (I don' think it is phase 3) although I don't think it was totally ready last week.

They have also talked about a bypass for CP. I wonder if it will ever happen.

@AC –I sort of thought the medical clinic was phase 2, but you have insider information!

That is so awesome that family met Jean and Hugh. We have exchanged parcels over the years too. She is such a sweet generous lady. Meanwhile, that is quite the building for seniors there in Perth...sounds top notch. And yes it's haying time...so soon it seems.

We went on a tour of W.Quebec yesterday. It was lovely drive. So many farmers out in their fields.
BTW Jenn, I'm out of Facebook. Don't know what the issue is, for some reason they can't seem to tell me. I might abandon it altogether. Too much crap on there anyway.

That kitchen is starting to look very nearly there. How wonderful to be able to talk to, and see family nearly half a world away.

Jenn and JB, it was a fabulous visit, I tried SO hard to stand taller against the others, sadly failed a lot !!! Facetime after lunch, then off they went to Wellington. Again, a wonderful visit for us all. XXX

By a 'ring road', Beth, I mean a road around the town, rather than going through it. The trucks are ridiculous in this small town. It was built in the era of horses!
