Meanwhile, in COVID-19 territory...
We're still having problems in cottage country. Lots of covidiots. Summer residents are trying to get plumbers to turn on their water. What could go wrong with that?People who live in Ontario's 'cottage country' want big city dwellers to stay home
This business and others in Huntsville / Lake of Bays say they will no longer open cottages or seasonal residence to limit the spread of #COVID19 #Covid_19 #coronavirus— Stefan Ottenbrite (@StefanM411) April 7, 2020
Then, there is the incompetence of Trump...
We send the US pulp to make the masks..@fordnation in an interview with @globalnewsto: “We had 3 million masks stopped at the border this weekend coming up to Canada. That’s unacceptable. Absolutely unacceptable that they’re doing this. Hopefully we’re going to work through it and get an exemption for Canada.” pic.twitter.com/2NdNnprp3U— Alan Carter (@ACarterglobal) April 6, 2020
3M says the Trump administration has asked the company to stop exporting respirators made in the U.S. to Canada and Latin America. In a statement, 3M said there are “significant humanitarian implications of ceasing respirator supplies to healthcare workers in Canada and Latin America, where we are a critical supplier of respirators.” – global ceo, mike roman, 3M

...I have a summer home in the Adirondacks that I most likely won't see this year.
According to the Google Guru, Nunavut has -16C right now, and covers 1/5th of Canada. Maybe the virus does not dare to wander there, I see you need warm clothing all year round, and extra care has to be taken in the winter. You hAve a lot in Ontario, here we now have over 1000, almost all started by an overseas visitor arriving, then more and so it spread. We3 are still self isolation, talking to strangers as they stroll past, thankful for a trip out on Monday to our GP for the flu vaccination. Take care, how stupid would that man think he was later on asking friends to come inside?. XXX 1.30 a.m. here, trying to get A time slot for a grocery order pick up at the local store.
Wow, the plumbers' joint resolution is brilliant.
I heard on this AM's news that the trump administration was rescinding the hold for export on Canada. There is a book entitled, Everything trump touches dies. That seems to say it all. Many of us south of the historically safest border in the world apologize and remember how Canada has often had our back. (Except for a few glitches during the 18th and 19th Centuries...apologies for those also.)
I guess we get the 3M masks now, but no thanks to Pumpkin Head.
Your larger photos would not display, probably due to the pressure being placed on bandwidth as all the kids are holed up. We get out early every morning-- got to see the Pink Moon set into the big lake. We are taking COVID very seriously as we are in the high-risk category. So far the groceries have been delivered with about 10% out of stock. Stay safe up there and enjoy your beautiful surroundings (and grandkids).
Hey Jenn, I LOVE co-vidiots btw...you should copyright that lol! Here, the Qc govt has banned people from coming to their cottages up north. There are actually peace-keepers on major highways turning people away and we can easily be whistle-blowers. The fines are up to 10k violating that order. It keeps us residents more safe I guess. But I'm sure people are still trying to find ways to get past it.
Powell River has been cut off from airline travel. Pacific Coastal Airlines has suspended all of their operations in order to cut costs and survive as a company. Now the only access is by ferry and they are cutting back to only essential travel. - Margy
Jenn - I could give you plenty of examples of people here not following the rules. It is disappointing and makes me angry. This is one of the biggest social "experiments" we have ever been part of - can people forego their needs and wants for the "greater good"?
