Red fox in the forest

March 26th, 2018 – we took a drive to Athens, Front of Yonge Township, Mallorytown, Rockport, Gananoque. A sneak peak.

This is for JB, my driver, who dropped me off and turned around while I took photos of the fox.

You can see the legs and tail of its prey hanging out of its mouth. I watched from the side of the highway.

You did so well to keep up with it as it went through the trees, Great cover there, and then right out in the open. They are truly beautiful animals.

Good eye on this one. Foxes can be very curious.

It brings to my mind the movie The fox and the Hound about the friendship between a baby fox and a puppy. The fox in your pictures looks very cute, but we shouldn't forget this animal is constantly on the hunt for some little victim.

Thanks for that fox video, Jennifer. And thanks to your filming assistant, JB. You could almost read the fox's mind at the end. "Hey, is that lady watching me? Well I'm outta here!"

Awesome capture! What a beautiful animal, and one I only see when we go to Colorado. We have coyotes and mountain lions and wild boar here...and of course, deer, which I am always excited to see. (The deer, not the boar or others...they are scary)

I've only seen a red fox once in my life in Illinois. Then again, maybe it was a coyote... Hmmmm.... Now I don't know.
