Jan. 10th, I spotted a couple of purple finches

A bit of a storm, nothing like the Maritimes. After coffee we will clean out. How nice to not be rushed to get the driveway cleared! Daisy is out birding. She hasn't a hope. They haven't caught a bird in months, despite 6 bird feeders.

I had a lovely visit with my client yesterday. She is a feisty 92-year-old. I love her. She makes me laugh. She speaks her mind and tells funny stories about bossing people around! She has no patience for nonsense. After my client visit, I watched a TV Movie. I've been watching some Canadian ones. I recognized Lisgar St. in Ottawa. I liek doing my research on ISDB. It's terrible walking on the frozen snow, and good to play indoors.

Buster had breakfast in bed this morning. His medications are calming him, I just have to make sure he gets them. We've switched from pills shoved down his throat, to opening the capsule and putting it in his food, to a new one. It's chicken flavoured, but we smush it into his wet food every morning.

Finally, overnight, we have birds and mice friends looking for food. I brought the bird feeder in overnight, but Bambi was at the feeder post looking for a snack. Their mournful tracks wander about the yard. The fox came by, as well.

I'm getting NOTHING on the trailcam at night, just the deer in the day time. The bucks, all but the one who has lost his antlers, have all gone elsewhere. Hubby had 9 yesterday morning. The one twin is always the last to leave! Rebel!

Are you feeling heaps better to be able to go out? Love the snowy tracks, and Mr J, your boots look warm and snug, are they special snow boots or like " Muck Boots" we have down here, with neoprene lining? Keep warm.

The deer are quite a welcome sight!

I wish our deer were as "tame" as yours. We've had lots of tracks, but no sightings.
Weather is warming up now, some of the snow is even melting, but they won't be able to find grass unless the warming trend continues for a couple of days, so I know they'll be back to our tree.
Hugs to you, JB, and the cats, with a special hug for Buster.
Luv, K

You are lucky to see so many deer.

I think the deer have become professional welfare bums. They know where it's easy to get food.

The bitter cold is finally arriving this side of the 'pond' too... promising us sub-zero temps by the weekend... I'd have to travel far to see the deer though. Outside the Edinburgh window this morning there is one robin and a couple of finches and, of course, the inevitable wood pigeon or many... YAM xx

I'm glad Daisy leaves the birds alone for you to enjoy!
