We haven't reformed sex-ed in years. The curriculum doesn't include the type of reality young kids face. Whether they believe it or not, the fundamentalist right needs to back off and help teacher help their students.
I have met the type of people who object to teaching girls and giving them the language and the power to say 'no.' They are the same ones who made my principal stop letting me teach about meditation. Let's move into the new millennium. Kids need to know the ramifications of sexting, and other new issues.

On Storify, an online tool that can store tweets on a similar subject in one thread, students have posted slides allegedly from Torcolacci’s class that say “2x as many kids have chronic brain and immune system dysfunction today than in the 1970s when half as many vaccines given.”
Another slide encourages students to use garlic to prevent communicable diseases and that antibacterial soaps are harmful.

These kids are telling us the right thing to do. One of the toughest times I ever had was meeting with parents who were against teaching about contraceptives. They were mean and nasty.
The fundamentalist right needs to get their head out of the sand... or other places that don't shine.
As for this professor... that's a face palm exercise in stupidity right there.
