Sir visits from Jennifer Jilks on Vimeo.
We call him Sir. He's been coming to the front yard feeder every night. This time he didn't budge when I turned on the front porch spotlight!
When my parents lived in Muskoka, they hung up the feeders by the kitchen windows. Enough seed fell below onto the ground and in the empty flower boxes that the deer would come up and have their fill in the winter. I remember on occasion being in the basement, and looking out the window at a deer eating five feet away.
I just love these guys. We have one that takes advantage of the seed that drops off of our railings which we sprinkle for the birds. All the seed is on the deck at the edge of the rails and this one buck, around this same age come along and sticks his nose and tongue between the rails and licks up the fallen seed. They're a joy to watch.
