Feeder action: flying tree rats and deer tongues

In the day time, the doe decided to lick up the flavour of the bird feed! The red squirrels were going nuts! One on the feeder, the other tried to launch himself from the tree to feeder and totally missed. I missed focussing the shot, as I had the zoom lens on. Besides,  was laughing so hard!

That is a multi-ourpose, multi-species feeder.

The squirrels view the feeder as their personal domain.

Yes, I saw a squirrel miss one time and crash land. It's mean but I'm still laughing. He fell in deep soft snow drift.

We put up a feeder with a plastic dome on top in Chicago. It was hilarious to see the squirrels jumping from the tree to the feeder or sliding off the dome to the nearby ground.
