My day at the swamp: cat, muskrat

Blue sky
Off I went, a little walk in the cold, fresh air. I was trying to capture a photo of my muskrats. I had company! She isn't quiet, and she is easy to spot. There was only one photo of the muskrat that I managed to capture. (See below.)

Silly dipstick Daisy decided to climb this tree trunk. She was gnawing the branches and perching on the tree.

Nice and quiet at the frog pond

Once down from her tree, she decided she was mushy and had to have some lovin's.

Muskrat peers through bulrushes

All I could get was the muskrat behind the bulrushes. They are quite secretive sometimes! I don't know that they see very well, but we are very noisy! Sometimes they ignore us.

I snapped a photo, then he stopped his bike, then got off the bike, and began to unzip... At that point I coughed LOUDLY, called loudly for Daisy, and he got back onto his bike.
Little man on a little bike!

We made it back up to the front yard. Daisy was quite curious about this guy. She ran over to the fence and did 'bear', up on her hind legs. I didn't capture a photo of that. I was laughing too hard.

Now that's what I call a quality walk! Live theatre, so to speak. Poor lad on the bicycle. Must have a urinary problem. And I'll bet the muskrat was entertained by Daisy as well. You have a wonderful backyard, Jennifer!
Cheers!

You walk to the trees, and there is all that wonder right there, maybe if you had called " DAISY" very loudly the biking man might have rode off even faster. thinking there might be two ladies watching... and on her back legs to get a better view, I had to laugh. What camera and lens do you have? It looks very telephoto to me, do you use it hand held, or find a handy tree trunk for a support? Take care as colder days arrive. Jean.

I wonder what the muskrats think of the cats.

All kinds of adventure on that walk ... beauty, humor, kitty lovin' .... all made me smile. (But I'm glad you coughed .. if you hadn't that guy would have provided a bit of 'sightseeing' you couldn't blog about ;>))

Ha.. if I saw the guy unzipping, I don't think I'd be calling "Daisy".. I'd be calling "Fang" or "Brutus" or
"Hurcules" or "Wolf!" but not "Daisy." ;)
