2014 Rideau Lakes Artists Tour Links
It's not just the artists and the art, it is the locations where these folks either live, the gardens they nurture, the architecture of the old or new buildings where they live, or where they choose to show their work! In addition, the drive in rural locations is a lovely one. The Rowats boast over 200 hosta plants! It was the perfect summer day. We began at the farthest away, in Chaffeys Lock, took time out to view the Chaffeys Lock Cemetery, as well as the Clear Lake Rd. Cemetery.
Poor hubby managed to engage with several deerflies, next time he'll wear his safari hat with the flaps!
For copyright reasons, I don't take many photos of the artwork, and/or post only low-resolution photos, there are too many thieves on the internet. I think, next time, however, I shall endeavour to take a photo of each artist. The weavers were a lot of fun. Each took time to explain her project and its inspiration. The artist displaying in the curling club/tennis club was in a lovely locale. Who knew there was such a club on this remote peninsula!
