Babysitting: Day 2 –Art in the barn

Josephine chose a bear and Isabelle a puffin painting.
Late to bed, early to rise! Grampa made the girls toast, peanut butter and jam/marmalade.
Tangled at 7:30 a.m., followed by a trip to Art in the Barn!

That was quite something! They picked their favourites, and chatted with the artists. One said, 'It's great to have kids come, as long as they behave.'

One artist thought they were my kids! Hooray for Clairol!

All were quite happy to talk to the kids, and explain their medium, and their artwork. The girls chose their favourite painting (Isabelle: 'All of them!'), or determined which subject was the artist's favourite: some do animals, some prefer other nature or flora pieces.

Off we went home. We bought them two little easels with a painting. These were people we had visited on the Rideau Lakes Arts Tour.

It poured rain (20mm) today. We had a picnic on the back deck, until the wind started blowing!
God's Eye and tired Grampa!

Tangled

Selfie, or Ussie! Rain poured!

Grape mustache
Silly Jofee

More God's Eyes and then painting in the bathtub. Seriously. Josephine wanted to make her own Art in the Barn. It was best, I thought, to paint it there in the tub. The rain was dumping down outdoors and it was the easiest place to clean up. She always likes to cover herself in paint!

The kidlets are just adorable, Jennifer. I'm so ready for grandkids.. alas, my sons are not ready to provide. I'll just enjoy yours vicariously. :)

A grand day out for all, lovely holiday entertainment, Jennifer, in your photo "tangled" what is the thing with a sheepskin top, is it a computer adjustable chair? a cat ladder? or am I so far off the track?? Lovely pic of three girls with glasses, I've had a visit to our optometrist, new frames and lenses for both reading and distance, hope it gives me a more youthful look too!! Cheers to all, Jean.

What lucky girls to spend time at Camp Grandma and Grandpa! Not sure which of you is having more fun ... looks like all four of you are having blast. Lucky you too!!! (I looked at all the babysitting posts and enjoyed them ... brought back memories.... we loved our grandparenting time (our three oldest are in their late 20s/30s now, so it's been a while, but those memories last.
