We have a 'coon cat. She treed the raccoon. Buster ignored it. It's rare to see raccoons during the day, but they must be hungry after a long winter. The wild turkeys and deer usually clean up under the bird feeder. Butch was out of luck.

Butch came by for a visit. Daisy fancies herself a coon dog.

I remember one occasion when my parents three cats were all circling around a tree, looking up, and there high up was a raccoon trying to get higher.
What a hoot. So funny that Buster was so disinterested and Daisy so intent upon clearing her territory of the raccoon.
My cats are indoor critters but Benny (the JRT) has had many encounters with raccoons.. most of them the young orphaned kits that Frank's sister cares for and rehabs. It probably gives him a false sense of their being harmless. Though he has had the occasionally nose to nose encounter with a totally wild adult.
I absolutely adore raccoons.
Wow, I would never have imagined a raccoon would be afraid of Daisy! Isn't she something? And Buster just ignoring the whole thing.
Wow again.
Luv, K
We had racoons living under our deck and I never saw them come out in the daytime.
The zoom on your video camera is amazing!
